Home emergency cover customers should ensure they keep the doors of their property secured after dark, according to an expert.Detective inspector Noel Devine of Bradford South CID, made his comments after thieves gained access to a home in Odsal, Bradford in recent days.A pair of masked men fled the scene after demanding a woman’s gold and snatching a pendant from around her neck. The woman shouted for her partner, who was asleep upstairs.Mr Devine said it was unusual situation as the majority of burglars do not break into a property when the residents are around.”I would remind people that it is best to keep doors locked at night even if you’re downstairs in the property,” the police officer added.Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers (ABI) recently asserted there is not a season of the year when home security is not a priority.”Home security is always important,” he added. Surrey Police have launched a week-long campaign which aims to educate property owners on simple measures that can deter opportunist burglars and keep homes safe. The force will also be conducting high-visibility patrols throughout Surrey and offering advice on home security with its crime reduction officers.”If thieves are scouting for potential targets and see an easy access point to your home they will take advantage of it,” said Detective Chief superintendent Kevin Deanus, who is leading the initiative.

Increase Effectiveness by Learning about Consumer Technology PR
If you have a product that uses the latest technology, you should learn about consumer technology PR, or public relations. It’s hard to keep a new product secret, but that is what you must do before you make it available to the public. You don’t want everyone out there stealing your great ideas. Use that time productively so when your product is released you will have an effective PR campaign.
Make sure you have a good relationship with the media. You want the media to act as your business partner. It would not hurt to let people from the media be the first to try out your product. Just make sure they sign nondisclosure agreements before you hand them the product. That way, when your product is released, the media will be ready with positive things to say about your technology.
Talk to your marketing department to make sure the product is being hyped with the latest buzzwords. Be sure the news teams on your local newspapers and television statements have the information about the product that you want them to have. Remember, you are in control of what information the media can access. You should tell everyone just enough about what you have to offer to make them demand more.
One thing that you’ll learn is effective as you learn about consumer technology PR is holding a press conference a few days before your product is released. It was not that long ago that nobody had heard of the iPhone. Press conferences before release resulted in customers being willing to stand in long lines. By generating a sense of hype around the release of your product, people will be waiting to buy it as well.
The internet can be a powerful tool to market your product. You might want to “leak” information about your product to technology websites. Customers have their eyes glued to those websites to get ideas about upcoming gadgets. The site should be “unofficial”, meaning that it appears to be a neutral third-party blog site, when you actually control the content.
